Amiodarone is very slightly soluble in water and soluble in ethanol.

Formula

Amiodarone 5mg per mL Suspension
Amiodarone tablets 200 mg
Methylcellulose 1% 100  mL
Syrup 100  mL
Crush tablets to a powder using a mortar and pestle and mix with the vehicle.
Expiry: 30 days at 4°C or 25°C.
Stability: 3 months under refrigeration at 4°C or 6 weeks at 25°C.
Storage: Plastic and glass prescription bottles were used in the study.
 

 
NOTE
  1. Microbial growth was not tested so a more conservative expiry date of 30 days should be used.
