This formula uses Ora-Plus and Ora-Sweet/SF; 1:1, and has been approved by the Extemporaneous Compounding Pharmacists' Group.
This formualtion is based on a a study published in Canada which showed that levetiracetam is stable in Ora-plus - Link to study abstract
Although levetiracetam appears to be chemically stable for 90 days in this formulation, a 30 day expiry date is recommended. Obtain a commercially available or manufactured oral liquid if possible.
Before compounding an oral liquid investigate if tablets or tablet fractions can be dispered in water and then given. The drug is very soluble in water. In some cases you may be able to discuss with the prescriber if the dose can be adjusted up or down to allow a tablet or fraction to be dispersed and then given.
