Preparation of a metoclopramide oral liquid in Ora Sweet or Ora Sweet SF has been suggested but no detailed stability information is provided - see Secundem Artem Vol. 13 No.2

A standard NZ batch sheet is in preparation. The recommended formula is as follows:

Metoclopramide hydrochloride oral liquid 1 mg per mL

Metoclopramide hydrochloride tablets 10 mg - 10 tablets ( to give a total of 100 mg)

Ora Sweet or Ora Sweet SF to 100 mL
Expiry date: 30 days refrigerated or at room temperature

Compounding alternatives.
Tablet dispersion is a possible alternative and doses can be rounded down to give a convenient tablet fraction such as a quarter or a half tablet.


Manufactured products and specials
Commercially available oral liquids should be obtained if possible and are available in many countries including the UK and USA.
