Oral Liquids

Oral liquid preparations are often required for pediatric patients. Commercially manufactured liquids are not always available and they have to be prepared from tablets or capsules. This information is intended as a guide to best practice by and as a digest of the available stability data.
Extemporaneous preparation of oral liquids should always be a last resort as the product may be unstable and therapeutically unreliable. Commercially manufactured products or alternative dosing strategies should always be preferred.
